Backstroke Flags
Backstroke Flags are now up in our Edison Swim School!
We're excited to finally have received our custom ordered backstroke flags! You may have seen Rey and Darius here last week installing them. Some may think these are just for decoration, but read on to learn the importance of backstroke flags for swimmers.
You will see these types of flags in all pools for competitive and high level swimmers. They serve a major purpose of helping swimmers know their whereabouts in the pool. While swimming on the back, swimmers should take note of the flags to know that they are approaching the wall and will need to turn over. That is why flags are on both ends of the pool, a few feet before the wall.
Our flags are customized with the Five Star Aquatics colors: blue and yellow! They also say our name on them.
Now swimmers can safely turn over when swimming backstroke. Be sure to try them out next time your here for your lesson or open swim!
