Benefits of a Salt Water Pool

You probably noticed that we have a salt-water pool and our Eatontown location has also switched to a salt water pool a couple of months ago.  We get lots of questions about the benefits of a salt water pool and why we choose to have one.

To answer the most commonly asked questions, salt water pools are safe to swim in.  Also, they are not “chlorine free.”  Through a process called, electrolysis, dissolved salt is used to produce hypochlorous acid and sodium hypochlorite.  These are two commonly used pool sanitizing agents that keep our pools passing inspections each week.  The water in our pools is also nowhere near as salty as the ocean.  Though it may taste salty to you, it’s only about 1/10 the salinity of sea water.

Chlorine is associated with a harsh smell, fumes, and causing eye and skin irritations.  All of these negative associations are diminished with a salt water pool.  Our water is a lot softer on your skin, hair, and eyes making your experience more enjoyable overall.  Come experience the difference for yourself during Open Swim, Aquacise, Aqua Zumba, or for a Birthday Party.
